I understand that only 30% to 40% of small retailers use Twitter to promote their business. This is surprising: Twitter is free, and although there is a time commitment to Tweeting, every retail business should make use of what is rapidly becoming, along with Facebook, one of the two major forces in online business promotion.
If you really don’t have the time to Tweet or maintain a Facebook page, then I again suggest joint working with your business neighbours. Get together and regularly post to Twitter and Facebook. It’s not that difficult and you will radically raise the profile of all your businesses – and you don’t have to spend your cash.
